Dress Code

Each athletic activity calls for an appropriate uniform or dress code. The same is true for dance and theatre arts. Following these guidelines will not only make you look your best in your class, but will also help your instructor makethe proper body alignment corrections allowing students to rapidly improve their technique! Remember to wear a cover-up and street shoes to and from the studio.

Attire: Pink tights and solid color leotard. Optional chiffon skirt no longer than knee length. Pink ballet shoes with elastic. Black tap shoes with black elastic to replace standard shoelaces (for easy shoe change).

Hair: Hair in a bun or ponytail.

Kidance • First Steps

Attire: Comfortable active wear or jazz wear with clean, non-marking tennis shoes. Please do not wear shoes from street to class. Bring clean shoes to change into once in studio.

Hair: Ponytail or bun. Long bangs must be pinned back.

Hip Hop

Attire: Leotard or fitted or modest midriff top. Jazz pants or bike/booty shorts. Shorts above the knee must be worn with tights. Black or tan Jazz shoes or half soles.

Hair: Hair in a ponytail or bun. Long bangs must be pinned back

Jazz • Lyrical • Contemporary

Attire: Leotard, fitted, or modest midriff top. Jazz pants or bike/booty shorts. Shorts above the knee must be worn with adaptable tights. Bare feet.

Hair: Hair pulled away from face and secured into low bun at nape of neck. Long bangs must be pinned back.

Acro

Attire: Fitted top any style. Jazz pants, or fitted shorts. Shorts above the knee must be worn with tights. Black, low-heeled tap oxfords or Mary Jane’s with taps screwed, not nailed, to soles. Cotton socks or tights will prevent blisters on feet.

Hair: Hair in a ponytail or bun. Long bangs must be pinned back.

Tap

Attire: Pink tights and black leotard in any style. Optional chiffon skirt. Pink ballet shoes with pink elastic. Baggy shirts, bike/booty shorts, and midriff tops are not acceptable. Sports bra (only if necessary) should be basic in shape and black or nude only. Hip Alignment Belt in the color that aligns with the student's level (available for purchase at the front desk).

Hair: Hair must be pulled back into a bun and secured with bobby pins and a hair net. Long bangs must be pinned back.

Ballet

Boys (All styles): Solid colored fitted t-shirt or tank top, jazz pants or fitted shorts. Tights recommended, but not required for ballet. Black ballet flats or jazz shoes.
